Wow! Legendary record producer and punk rock luminary, Steve Albini, passed away today from an apparent heart attack. He was only 61 years old. Steve Albini is probably best known for producing albums for Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Pixies, Superchunk, The Jesus Lizard, and many more. He was also an influential artist who played in the bands Big Black, Rapeman, and Shellac. His impact on 80s and 90s music is immeasurable. He was a legend.
