Just got an email announcing three great shows coming to the Omaha area in the near future. The first one is Wilco's Jeff Tweedy doing a solo show at the Rococo Theater in Lincoln on Saturday, Feb. 18. Nice. I haven't seen him play solo before (except in footage from the Wilco movie I Am Trying To Break Your HeartSecond big show is Ghostface (from Wu-Tang Clan) at Sokol Underground (!?) on Monday, March 13. That show will be soooo packed. I can't believe the show won't be in the upstairs room at Sokol, but it is not. This show follows the brief, East Coast reunion tour of Wu-Tang. Guest appearances at the show? Could happen.
Last announcement is that Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will be playing at Sokol Underground Friday, March 31. Haven't heard this band, but I have heard a lot about them. I intend to see if they are worthy of all the hype.
There are a number of other good shows coming up, too. This Spring looks to be a pretty great concert season: Nada Surf (3/2), Of Montreal (3/12), P.O.S. (3/21), Two Gallants (3/23). Tickets for all of these shows can be purchased here.
