MORE "LOST" ALBUMS OF THE 90s // The Best 90s Albums Nobody Talks About

Welcome to the 9th episode of the Against The 90s Podcast. This month, we delve once again into the "lost" albums of the 90s. We each picked three more albums that never got their due, are rarely part of the discussion of the decade's music, and have, in many ways, been forgotten. But we remember!

This month, we are discussing:

The Judybats - "Down in the Shacks Where the Satellite Dishes Grow"
Supernova - "Ages 3 & Up"
Chocolate Genius - "Black Music"
Skunk - "Laid"
Jennifer Trynin - "Cockamamie"
KARP - "Self Titled LP"

Leave your suggestions for other "lost" 90s albums in the comments!!

The Year Grunge Broke: Interview with Author Clive Barnes //90s Music

This video is for anyone who loves 90s Alternative Rock. I recently interviewed Clive Barnes, author of the book, The Year Grunge Broke. He also runs the popular social media pages of the same name.

The coffee table style book "chronicles the stories behind 50 essential grunge and alternative rock albums from the 1990s and beyond." The book is very well done, and even has a forward written by Dave Abbruzzese (former drummer of Pearl Jam).

After discussing our mutual love of all things grunge, I asked Clive about five specific albums from the book. We had a great conversation, and we probably could have talked for hours.

90s Artists We Hated That We Love Now (And Vice Versa) || Against The 90s : A 90s Music Podcast

We all have musical opinions that don't age very well.

In this episode of Against The 90s, Dave and MarQ revisit some of the artists they couldn't stand during the 1990s—but somehow ended up appreciating years later. Was it changing tastes? Maturity? Or did these artists deserve more credit than we gave them at the time?

But it goes both ways.

Each of us also reveals one artist we absolutely loved back in the '90s that just doesn't connect with us anymore. Some favorites don't survive the test of time, and we're not afraid to admit it.

Join us as we talk about changing perspectives, musical redemption, and the artists that prove our younger selves didn't always get it right.

What artists have you changed your mind about?

The Mafia Money Story Part 1

I've just begun work on a new project that will document the old record label I used to run called Mafia Money Records. I had the label from 1994-2000. I'm going to be making videos that talk about the label and the bands I worked with. I completed my first video over the long weekend, and it covers the first three releases on the label. All three were 7" singles. Here it goes:

Interview with SWEEPING PROMISES // Sub Pop, New Music & Live in Concert

I interviewed the band SWEEPING PROMISES ahead of their recent concert in Omaha. The show was the first night of the current leg of the ban...
