Autolux = Fucking Phenomenal

Just got back from the Autolux show. Wow! What a fucking band! They were even better than their album. I got the chance to chat briefly with the band after the show. I must have looked like a moron. I was totally confused about who did what in the band. I knew Carla played drums and sang (BTW Carla is much more attractive in person than I had thought), but I assumed Greg Edwards (ex-Failure) was doing most of the lead vocals. Turns out, he doesn't. I never really knew who did what in Failure. The two main guys (Edwards and Ken Andrews) switched instruments a lot and co-wrote all the songs. I thought they both sang. Guess not.

ANYWAY... Eugene Goreshter, the bassist, sings most of the songs. I think Edwards writes many of the lyrics like he did in Failure. Eugene was really nice and didn't make fun of me for being so dumb. Carla was really nice, as well. She took down some info on my radio show, and promised to let me know if any additional songs would be coming out in Europe or elsewhere. Bumped into Greg Edwards, too. He seemed kinda spaced out and not super responsive. I told him it was a great show, he thanked me, and that was pretty much it. Carla later told me that after this tour with Secret Machines is over, they are doing tours with Ambulance Ltd. and then The Raveonettes. They didn't know wheteher or not Omaha was on the itinerary at this point. If these tours hit your town...SEE AUTOLUX!
